SIMPLE PAST TENSE REGULAR VERBS

USE:

We use Simple Past to talk about finished events that occurred in a specific moment of the past time.

REGULAR VERS

It is formed with the BASE FORM of the verb + the suffix _ED

*When the verb finished in _yhas a consonant before it, we dothe following:

REGULAR VERBS

When the verb has a vowel sound trapped between two consonant sounds (CVC), we duplicate the last consonant.

FORM:

Affirmative:

Subject + verb + ed + complement.

Ex. I worked last weekend.

They played soccer yesterday.

FORM:

Negative

Subject+Auxiliar did not+verb +complement

I did not cook in the morning.

She didn´t study for the test.

did not = didn´t

FORM: Questions(Question word) +Auxiliar did + subject + verb +

(complement)?

Ex. When did you arrive? Did you work last week?
