A we know that each and every living cell is composed of FIVE matters THE PANCH mahabhoot,i.E

Akash- the ether

Vayu - the air

Agni - the fire

Jal - the water and

Prithavi - the earth

The Tridosha Theory

Vata

Pitta

Kapha

Biological Composition ofTridosha(humors)

Kapha - earth + water The two substances which can amalgam each

other

Pitta - fire + water The two substances which are antagonist to

each other

Vatta - air + ether (akash) The two substances which can not be touched

and wants speed & space

Tridosha At Cellular Level

Vata-carries nutrients and waste to and from the cells.

PITTA- digests nutrients to provide energy for cellular function

KAPHA - it provides structure to cells

Vata

it is not the gas??? Governs psychological phenomena like

perception, imagination and motivation Initiates & transmits impulses. Controls the movement of heart

Pitta

It is not the bile?? Pitta represents the universal energy at various

levels in our body and mind. It balances the kinetic and potential energies. It governs all forms of bio-chemical energy in

both body and mind. Digestion, enzymatic and endocrine systems are the pitta’s main field of activity.

Support mental phenomena like intellectual comprehension, conviction, courage and valor

Kapha

It is not the sputum???? It is the potential energy responsible for the

somatic stability of the universe in our body. It governs the structural integrity of all

components in the system. Imparts immunity. Protects the organs against the physiological

injuries by providing them with protective layer of fluid.

Therapies

Shirodhara

Shirodhara ----Apparatus & Equipments ----

Shirodhara----Process----

Properties of some of the plants

brahmi

Brahmi

Directly affects hypothalamus. Cognitive enhancement and anxiolytic effect Use as a nerve tonic for rejuvenating mental

health and for enhancing memory Uses in ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity

disorder) Its becosides contents significantly enhance

protein synthesis in those areas of brain which are implicated in the memory function.

Jatamanshi

Jatamanshi

Anxiolytic activity-Causes overall increase in the levels of central monoamines and inhibitory amino acids.

Serves as effective tranquilizer. Possess anticonvulsant profile. Having some diuretic properties it lowers

down the stress related hypertention.

Jatamanshi

Well researched nervine tonic Antistress,immunomodulatory,cognition

facilating,antiinflammatory and anti-aging properties.

Protects neuronal cell toxicity Neuroprotective action. Calms the nervous system.

Tagar- Valeriana wallichii

Tagar- Valeriana wallichii

Sedative-hypnotics, anxiolytic, antidepressant, anticonvulsant, and antispasmodic effects

The Valerenic acid also appears to inhibit the enzyme system responsible for the central catabolism of GABA, increasing GABA concentration and decreasing CNS activities

There is also some evidence that may suggest valerian containing other constituent such as lignan and GABA, which may be responsible for sedative effects of valerian

Tagar- Valeriana wallichii

The current indication for valerian is for restlessness, insomnia, nervousness, and tension.

Valerian as a mild sedative and sleep-promoting agent that is often used as a milder alternative or a possible substitute for stronger synthetic sedatives, such as benzodiazepines, in the treatment of states of nervous and anxiety-induced sleep disturbances .

Hypotensive and mild analgesic properties

Ashvagandha- Withania somnifera

Adaptogens or vitalizers. It produce a non specific increased

resistance to adverse effect of physical, chemical and biological agents.

Ashvagandha- Withania somnifera

Anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antistress, antioxidant.

Immunomodulatory, hemopoetic, and rejuvenating properties. It also appears to exert

A positive influence on the endocrine, cardiopulmonary, and central nervous systems.

Arjun

Improvement of cardiac muscle function and subsequent improved pumping activity of the heart seems to be the primary benefit of Terminalia. It is thought the saponin glycosides might be responsible for inotropic effects of Terminalia, while the flavonoids and OPCs provide free radical.

Antioxidant activity and vascular strengthening. A dose-dependent decrease in heart rate and

blood pressure.

Shatavar- Aspargus recemos

Affects endocrine secretions. Acts as immunity enhancer. Regulates hormonal secretions having

direct effect on Pitutory-Adrinal Axis.
