• A mobile station is the unit in the hands of a subscriber.• It communicates to BST through air interface.• Mobile station includes mobile equipment and the
subscriber identity module (SIM).
Base station subsystem (BSS)It consist of one or more Base Transceiver Station (BTS) and Base Station Controller (BSC).
Mobile switching center
Network and switching subsystem (NSS)
The network subsystem provides the link between the cellular network and the Public Switched Telecommunication Networks (PSTN).It is mainly supported by four database:
• Home Location Register (HLR) Database• Visitor Location Register (VLR) Database• Authentication Center (Auc) Database• Equipment Identity Register (EIR)
Database
HLR: - The HLR stores information , both permanent and temporary, about each of the subscriber that belong to it.
VLR: - The location is determined by the VLR into which the subscriber is entered.
AuC: - This is used for authentication of the system.
EIR: - It keeps track of the type of equipment that exists at the mobile station.
Summary
So we can say that our daily routine is dependent on the communication technique like that GSM, CDMA, Telecom etc.
