Talk nerdy to me!

Speaking to tech folk and getting the message across

Chris&an Heilmann, Speaking Out #2 ‐ London,UK  23/11/2010

This is a double special today!

Talking to technical audiences is different than talking to others.

Good news: clothing doesn’t matter.

Other good news: Technical glitches are expected - share the pain.

Bad news: There’s a shorter attention span.

Other bad news: those who do pay attention are looking for mistakes.

More bad news: feedback is very polarised.

However, none of this is a problem - it just means choosing the right approach.

Let’s have a few great examples.
