“ In many organizations, the problem is not the absence of innovations, but the presence of too many disconnected, episodic, piecemeal projects with superficial implementation.”

PISA (Programme for International Student Assesment)
RELEASED ITEMS 2006 AND 2012• PISA examines how well students are prepared to
meet challenges of the future, rather than how well they master particular curricula.
• The web page is a good source of activities in English. • Designed for 15-year-old students, but adaptable to
almost all levels. • In every activity, we can use other resources like
Geogebra, to represent graphs and shapes.
• The INEE publised these activities organised by subject: Arithmetics, Geometry, Functions, Statistics and Probability.
• QUESTION 3. Calculate the surface area of the roof, formed by four equal triangles.
• QUESTION 4. Calculate the volume of the pyramid.
• QUESTION 5. We want to panel the roof. The panelling costs 80 €/ m2. Calculate the total price, taking into account that the carpenter charges a fee of 500 € for his job , and he applies a VAT of 10% to the total price.
• QUESTION 6. Use Geogebra 3D to represent the pyramid using the indicated measurements. You should obtain an image like this:

QUESTION 3. According to this graph, on average, during which period in their life are females taller than males of the same age? QUESTION 4. Is that graph a function? Why? Can you find out the domain and the range? What are the variables involved? And the scale? Why are the axes broken?

KEY COMPETENCES MOSTLY DEVELOPED
1. Mathematical competence2. Linguistic competence3. Digital competence4. Learning to learn5. Cultural awareness and expression 6. Social and civic competences7. Initiative and entrepreneurship
CONCLUSIONS1. External tests help us to improve.2. Money investment is important.3. Smaller class size is important.4. But the most important thing is a
consistent quality of teaching. That can be improved by
1. Selecting teachers with an appropriate process
2. Improving teacher training.5. High performance requires every child to succeed. Pay attention to all students.
HOW CAN WE DO BETTER?1. Look for motivation and training in the
areas we need.2. Connect curriculum with external tests.3. Choose good textbooks.4. Choose good resources from the web.5. Prepare our own material and use the
appropriate resources.6. Transfer our motivation to the students.7. The governments should organise training
courses on external assessments
