PLANET EARTH IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM

UNIVERSE Definition- :

The Universe comprises everything we perceive to exist physically, space, time, all forms of matter and energy.

GALAXY

Definition-

Galaxies are star systems

made up of hundreds of thousands

or even billions of stars in addition

to gas and dust.

NEBULA-THE BIRTHPLACE OF A STAR

A STAR Definition— A huge ball of gas held together by

gravity. The central core of a star is extremely hot and produces energy. Some of this energy is released as visible light which makes the star glow.

Stars come in different sizes, colours and temperatures.

figure or design in the sky, many of which are based on mythological traditions from ancient Greek and Middle Eastern Civilisation.

There are 88 officially recognised constellations.

METEOROID, METEOR, METEORITE

Meteoroid is a solid object moving in interplanetary space, of a size considerably smaller than an asteroid and considerably larger than an atom.

Meteor is the visible streak of light that occurs when a meteoroid enter the earth’s atmosphere.

Meteorite is a portion of a meteoroid or asteroid that survives its passage through the atmosphere and impacts with the ground without being destroyed.
