When is Winter?

Starts : December 21st Ends : March 20th

During these 4 months December January February March

How does Winter look and feel?

What can you do outside during Winter?

Build snowmen

Snowball fights

Sledding

Ice skating

Snow angels

Temperatures about 32º F and lower

Very cold Snow falls Outside everything looks white

What to wear during the Winter?

Snow boots Coat Hat Gloves/mittens Snow pants

Are there any special things that happen during the Winter time?

In December Christmas Kwanzaa begins New Year’s Eve

In January New Year’s Day Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Special things that happen during Winter continued…

In February Groundhog Day Valentine’s Day Presidents’ Day

In March Daylight-savings St. Patrick’s Day

Spring

When is Spring?

Starts : March 20th Ends : June 21st

During these 4 months March April May June

How does Spring look and feel?

What can you do outside during Spring?

Play in the rain

Plant a garden

Cut the grass

Pick flowers

Temperatures around 50ºF to 70ºF

Weather is getting warmer Rainy Outside looks very green Flowers start to grow

What to wear during the Spring?

A light jacket Rain coat Rain boots Umbrella Long pants

Are there any special things that happen during the Spring time?

In April April Fools’ Day Earth Day Easter (not always in April)

In May Mother’s Day Memorial Day

Summer

When is Summer?

Starts : June 21st

Ends : September 22nd During these 4 months

How does summer look and feel?

What can you do outside during the Summer?

Swim

Go to the beach

Water the grass and plants

Temperatures from 75ºF and higher

Very hot Sunny Grass gets dry

What to wear during the Summer?

Shorts T-shirts Swim suit Sandals Sun glasses

Are there any special things that happen during the Summer time?

In July Independence Day – 4th

In September Labor Day

Fall

When is Fall?

Start : September 22nd

End : December 21st

During these 4 months September October November December

How does Fall look and feel?

Rake leaves

Jump in leaf piles

Go to the cider mill

Pick pumpkins

Temperatures around 40ºF to 65ºF

Starting to get colder Colors of the leaves are

changing Leaves fall

In October Columbus Day Halloween
