5. X would recount this incident for decades afterward. It happened, he said, when he was about five years old. To punish him for some minor misdeed, his father sent him off to the local police station with a note. From that single episode, X would claim, arose a lifelong terror of the police. It was a terror that would surface time and again in his films, especially those in which the main character is falsely accused of a crime and pursued by the authorities.

Whether the incident actually occurred, or whether it was just a colorful fiction that X trotted out for interviewers, is impossible to say. Still, the story does suggest that the emotions of fear and anxiety loomed large in his earliest memories.

7.. X is an Indian television sitcom that first aired on Doordarshan in 1989. It was famously “mis-directed” by Y. Y’s wife produced the show and also acted in all the episodes as his wife. The sitcom was a satire on the socio-cultural problems faced by the common man in India at the time. Although only 10 episodes of the show were ever produced, the show has had a long and powerful legacy.

18. Just before days of X’s release, Z, the leader of the Y had filed a case against the makers of X as she feels the filmmakers have no right to make a film on her life without her permission. The Delhi High Court passed a stay order against the release of the film across India stating that the release will cause irreparable loss to the reputation of Z and that "the loss of reputation can not be compensated by monetary terms". The High Court one day later lifted the ban on X.
