Using LibraryThing to find children's books in the Dick Smith Library

Go to http://www.librarything.com/catalog/rdg301library. There is a suggested Style for viewing the books – click on “Member”

Click on LC Classification to sort books by call number (arrow down)

This will help you find the books on the Dick Smith Library shelves.

Go to the box at the upper left (usually labeled “Your Library”) and use the drop-down menu to select a genre or book type (picture books or chapter books).

Next, click on the “Tags” link in the page header.3

You can use the tags to find books of a particular genre, content area, book type, or many other categories.

You can type a search term—author (last name first), subject, etc. into the box to the left of Search, use the drop-down to select fields……………………………………….then click Search

You can add the book to your own LibraryThing account (1st 200 books FREE), by clicking the

The Comments field gives Accelerated Reader reading levels and interest levels.
