Wetlands

Wetlands are one

of our richest habitat areas.

•They are also the least appreciated and the first to be

destroyed.

Wetlands are found on every continent except Antarctica and in climates ranging from the tropics to the tundra.

There are several types of Freshwater Wetlands:

• Swamps

• Marshes

• Prairie Potholes

• Bogs

• Flood Plains

• Fens

• There are large evergreen trees, ferns, lianas  epiphytes and climbers.

Castor, crocodiles, flamingos, catfish are abundant on these areas.
