Al ramtha growth
• It started in the center with organic radial growth
• The growth reached first ring road• They create a new ring road• The growth expanded towered the 2nd ring road• Then directed in leaner form towered just
university
It is started from The center of the city
(down town) as any traditional city
It is expanding in construction
around the center
space syntax
• We will use space syntax to simulate the effects of al ramtha city designs on the citizen and visitor who move around in the city.
The important of al ramtha is in the commercial center of the city
PROBLEMS• traffic congestion • environmental degradation • unattractive for visitors and inhabitants. • Parking lake • Narrow streets • No pedestrian path• Unplanned land use • Shortage of open space TO • reverse any further degradation of the city center• achieve economic gains• Create safety environment for resident and commercial visitors • conserve the environment• Reduce carbon emission through space syntax • Create sustainable economic

THE CHALLENGE • revitalizing ramtha city center by identifying understanding providing • solutions to problems that have emerged through its recent
rapid growth. THE MAIN GOAL IS spatial layout , the social, economic and environmental
performance of places.Put future development strategy urban design guidelines for revitalizing the city center .
Space Syntax research has made five key discoveries that demonstrate how spatial layout directly affects:
-movement, such that Space Syntax models can be used as strategic traffic modeling tools for vehicle, pedestrian and cycling movement
-land use, showing how land use performance is deeply influenced by spatial location
-safety, allowing risk to be identified and safer places to be created - land value, demonstrating the influence of spatial networks on
property economics- carbon emissions, highlighting the contribution of spatial planning
and design to environmental impact.
types of syntactic maps that we will use in al ramtha:
•Axial mapdepicts the least number of axial lines covering all convex spaces
of a layout and their connections.
We will use the axial map as an application to analyse al ramtha map as 1- urban spaces 2- interior space
Measurements • we will use the four measurements to analyze
the spaces of al ramtha.1. Integration2. Connectivity3. Choice 4. Mean depthOn two different scales
Methodology
• The methodology included analyses at two different scales
1. local scale.2. Global scalesegment map for the entire city by space syntax.integration and choice values to see how the city of Al Ramtha and the commercial
center of the town is related to each other.
Global and local scale segment analysis of ramtha city :

Connectivity • It is a static local measure• measures the number of immediate neighbors
that are directly connected to the spaces.
• It will show you how often a street is connected to another street.

Integration• It is a static local & global measure. • It will describes the average depth of a
space to all other spaces in Al Ramtha city• It will describes how easy it is to get to
one segment from all other segments. • It will tell you how many times you will turn
to reach your location

• urban development al ramtha depend mainly on the commercial center.
1. Syrian board and commercial relationship between the two country
2. The commercial relation between al ramtha and Lebanon and al Iraq across Syria
3. Commercial relationship between the city and the other cities in Jordan
4. Pass through the city by traveler to Syria Lebanon Iraq turkey and

choiceis a dynamic measure of the “flow” through a space. A space has a strong choice value when many of the
shortest paths, connecting all spaces to all spaces of a system, passes through it.
