Mumbai to Thane• By 1946 all 42 rails system taken over by govt. to make a single

nationalized network

•A passenger car ( known as a coach or carriage in the UK, and also known as a bogie in India) is a piece of railway rolling stock that is designed to carry passengers.• The term passenger car can also be associated with a sleeping

car, baggage, dining, railway post office and prisoner transport cars.

COACH TYPES

• LHB coaches are designed by ALSTOM GERMANY and manufactured at Kapurthala coach factory and is used in high speed trains such as Rajadhani and Shatabdi.

• ICF coaches are designed and manufactured by Indian railways and are the most conventional ones seen in the most express trains.

SUSPENSION SYSTEM

• Buffers are the horizontal shock absorbing part with coupling the adjacent coaches of the train so need regular changing of shock absorbing rubber pads.
