VolunteersHow many volunteers do you need?

• Hand out the free comics

• Hand out and collect the punch cards

• Bodyguard for Darth Vader

• Photographer

• Game master for the board games

• Manager for the speakers

• People who know where everything is in the library to help direct patrons

Where do we get volunteers?

• Teen Advisory Board

• Local Businesses with volunteer programs

• Partner Organizations who will send staff

• Friends and Family

• Recruit regular patrons who would be interested

• Local Student Organizations

Things to Remember…• The volunteers are probably also fans. Relieve

them periodically so they can get comics or pictures too!

• Encourage them to cosplay for the event. They can always wear a name tag on their costume and it’s more fun.

• Get group pictures with all of the volunteers and staff at the event. It’s fun and when you post it on Facebook it’ll make them feel like a valued part of the library.
