A PRECIOUS NEW LIFE IS A GIFT FROM GOD!

But Sometimes That Gift Comes With Some Insurmountable Challenges.Wesley, a Beautiful Son was born on June 11, 2012

To Concerned but loving parents Travis and Rebecca Goodman who had been prepared by their doctors for the arrival of a child which they knew would need immediate and long term care for the duration of his little life.

And then to do everything humanly possible to help this innocent little child continue his life in as little pain and suffering as possible.

He was diagnosed with an occipital encephalocele at 15 weeks gestation.

Encephalocele is a rare disorder in which the bones of the skull do not close completely, creating a gap through which cerebral spinal fluid, brain tissue and the membrane that covers the brain (the meninges) can protrude into a sac-like formation.

An encephalocele is classified as a neural tube defect.

Babies with an encephalocele are very likely to die before birth.

Approximately 21 percent, or one in five, are born alive. Of those born alive, only half will survive.

Wesley's doctor recommended to his parents that the only reasonable option for them was to end his life through an abortion.

The doctors sent Wesley home to be with his family, expecting him not to make it, but he is still here. He will be re-evaluated for surgery in 4-6 weeks.

Thankfully as God fearing Christians they told the doctor NO and continued with the pregnancy.

Wesley was born on June 11, 2012 and weighed 6lb 3oz. he came out breathing on his own which the doctors were all amazed at.

99% of infants with his size of encephalocele will not make it past 28 weeks gestation, but Wesley made it to 37 weeks.

Those that survive will not take their first breath, but Wesley is still breathing!

The doctors sent Wesley home to be with his family, expecting him not to make it, but he is still here. He will be re-evaluated for surgery in 4-6 weeks.

Travis and Rebecca asks for your prayers for this special child with tremendous needs and feels that his fate is in Gods Hands.

All they can do is love him and that is the one thing this young family is not lacking in.

Travis only has a part time job and it does not cover ANY of the medical bills.

They don't even have insurance. Wesley has Medicaid but that hardly covered prenatal visits. They want to give their son the best but cannot financially.

Travis gets laid off several times a year and they are struggling to pay their bills in this difficult time.

Anyone who can see their way clear to send any amount to help with their needs for Wesley I know that they would be forever greatfull to you.

This Young Family is in dire need of financial help.

God Bless You for your prayers and any assistance you may be able to provide. I know it will mean a lot to this young family who desperately needs help.
