- Swedish Cath lab at Ryhov Hospital

These are two rooms for pediatric patients in Ryhov hospital. The one on the left is a pediatric room in the ER.

To the left, is a monitor found in the cath lab. These monitors were not as large or as new as the monitors we observed at Washington Regional. Also the patient rooms in Ryhov did not use as much technology, such as the number of monitors, in comparison to patient rooms I’ve seen in the U.S. Above is a patient room in Ryhov hospital.

- Above, is a picture of Margaret, Kelly, and I in the emergency room mirror.- To the left, is a Swedish ambulance which is far different in appearance than American ambulances. Swedish nurses also accompany the ambulance which is another healthcare resource difference between Sweden and the U.S.

This was at a primary healthcare clinic in Jonkoping. The openness and amazing interior design used in this building lifted my spirits as I’m sure it does for Swedish patients. Hospitals and clinics in Sweden are well-built and not as imposing as most U.S. hospitals feel. Both Sweden and the U.S. have well-established base for healthcare infrastructure, but I prefer the style employed in this clinic to promote wellness through even the design of the building.

- To the left is the Karolinska Institute, a medical university in Uppsala. Above is a picture of Annika and I on the roof of the school of health sciences building. Not only are Swedes investing in healthcare infrastructure but also in the training of future healthcare professionals.
