METASTRUCTURES OF NURSING INFORMATICS

INTRODUCTION:•The principle metastructures of nursing informatics are based on a nurse's ability to utilize data, information and knowledge to make wise clinical decisions. According to Mastrain and McGonigle (2009),

•Nursing informatics is defined as a specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in nursing practice. The fundamental concepts of nursing informatics are highly embedded in a nurse's practice. This is why nurses from all specialties are considered informatics nurses.

•The diagram shows the relationship and the interconnectedness of the metastructures of nursing informatics.

•The mother board representS the base of the diagram, through this, the four metastructures are connected to each other.

•It means it follows a systemic process in order to attain an act.These four structures, can also be useful in the nursing and medical field and can be applied in the nursing process.
