Leprosy: A disease like other diseases, which is caused by a infective agent and cured by medicines.

Caused by a Bacteria named: Mycrobactarium leprae .

Elimination: No of cases less that 1 per 10,000 population.

Signs & Symptoms: one or more patches over skin.

Colour of that area of skin may be lighter or darker.

Bacteria causes thickening of nerves.

Common area where thickening of nerve to be searched Behind the ear – Temporal Nerve.

Side of the elbow – Ulnar Nerve.

Back of Knee – Popletial Nerve.

Categories of DiseasePauci-Bcillary Leprosy

&

Multi-Bacillary Leprosy

Pauci- Bacillary Leprosy: No of Patches 5 or less than 5

Multi- Bacillary Leprosy: No of Patches more than 5

How to diagnosed Drop a ball pen over patch ask the

patient if he/she felt same sensation in compare with other normal area.

Treatment

MDT: Multi Drug Therapy

Method of taking medicine : Very Very Easy
