Neurologist A neurologist is a doctor who specializes in treating diseases of the nervous system. The nervous system comprises the central and peripheral nervous system. This complex system involves the spinal cord and the brain. Illnesses, disorders, and injuries that involve the nervous system frequently require a neurologist’s treatment.

Duties of a Neurologist

● Direct the activities of nurses and medical technicians in the treatment of patients

● Work in research, developing and administering clinical trials to further knowledge in neurology

● Continue their education in the field by completing workshops, attending seminars, publishing in the field or taking courses

● Develop a treatment plan for patients after diagnosing a disorder or condition

● Consult with surgeons on the procedures and treatment. ● Order diagnostic tests to identify neurological disorders● Detect and identify neurological and central nervous
