The Employer's Information Requirements & The Role of the BIM Information Manager

Preview:

DESCRIPTION

Information Management is a requirement of Building Information Modelling (BIM) standard PAS 1192: 2013. As a result, the role of BIM Information Manager has been on the rise as all BIM projects are required to appoint an Information Manager. The scope of the Information Manager’s role is three fold: to coordinate project information; control the common data environment; and manage collaboration and the project team. Although information management isn’t new, adding the prefix of BIM has caused some confusion because it is a new addition to the project team. To help explain the role, and offer further insight into the Employers Information Requirements (EIR) – the document detailing BIM project objectives – Oxford BIM Hub hosted an event in partnership with Futurefit Built Assets on Wednesday 4th June 2014 at Oxford Brookes University.
