today? If so, you may need to bring

clothing more suited to that activity.

There are 5 Levels of Dress

Casual dress clothing is usually untailored, with curved

lines, round shapes, soft fabrics, light/dark contrast,

unmatched, and collarless. This includes t-shirts,

walking-length shorts, jeans, and sneakers.

Casual Dress

When is it appropriate? Some examples:

• 4-H Camp

• Clean up at county fairgrounds

• Agriculture field day or farm visit

Casual Dress

Casual DressT-shirts should be plain or promote Extension (with the logo) or Extension activities.

Jeans should be “nice” –not faded, torn, or worn.

Flip-flops are never appropriate while on official Extension business.

Business casual is the official dress code for Extension

offices. You may need to dress up if you have contact with

special clientele. Or bring a more casual change of

clothes if you will be participating in an outside activity.

Business Casual

Business casual clothing can be tailored or untailored, is

less structured than business clothing, uses soft fabrics,

light/dark contrast, is frequently collared. The look is

sometimes achieved by layering.

Business Casual

Business clothing is more tailored, more structured, uses

contrasting colors and soft or firm fabrics, is collared, and

uses ties and jackets or blazers.

Business

Business professional clothing is tailored, structured, has

straight lines, is angular, has matching firm fabrics and

colors, and is fitted.

Business Professional

Dressy clothing is varies in style and description. Usually it

is fitted, made from high quality material, and is simplistic

in style.

Dressy

• Clothing should be modest and

in good taste.

• Pay attention to what respected

employees wear.

• If you question whether what

you’re wearing is appropriate,

change your outfit.

• Your dress should reflect

positively on you and Extension.
