KPMG’s multi-site management approach for its global digital platform
KPMG consists of a network of legally
independent member firms in different
countries around the world.
Each firm creates digital content with
various degrees of independency from the
global digital marketing department: some
create net-new content for local marketing,
most take centrally produced content and
campaigns and localize it.
Our challenge is to:
• Avoid duplication of content and assets
(storage)
• Facilitate adoption of globally produced
marketing materials, in a time and cost
effective manner

Site design based on AEM Multi-Site Management
Multi-site Management (MSM) system is a
set of capabilities within AEM that allows for
content to be created in a central location
and syndicated across numerous sites and
channels, maintaining a relationship with the
original content and reflecting any updates
made after it is initially rolled out.
With MSM you can:
Reduce time it takes to manage websites
by re-use of common content
Efficiently manage different language
versions of a website
Update sites automatically based on the
source site

Localization: Overriding inheritance at component level
Closed or open lock icons
represent the inheritance status
for each component:
• Enabled: Modifications to the
source component are
propagated to the Live-Copy
component (default status)
• Disabled: The component has
this status when the Live-copy
component has been modified,
or inheritance is disabled.
Since page level inheritance is
intact, authors will receive
notification of updates to the
original but make manual updates
to components with disabled
inheritance.
