Civic Engagement

Project success grew from gaining and maintaining stakeholders’ trust.

Long term civic engagement process began in early 2009.

Media presence was important – project webpage; e-mail notices

Personal interactions critical to success.

Partnership with Village Association. Village Association personal contacts extended those personal interactions to bring about trust and consensus.

Funding

Unique funding source: the Cape Cod Commission’s ability to assess mitigation for regional impacts allowed design concepts and construction documents without “penny pinching”

Town capital funds set aside for FY 2017 construction

Construction will begin once bid process is complete
