He wrote, “Hello My name is Brian. I work at Timeline Antiques on Line Avenue. 2 blocks south of Byrd High School on the corner of Line and Stephenson.

I love what you are doing here.

I can help.

Bring me the R2 and we will find you something to help on your journey.

See ya soon.”Brian3323 Line Avenue861-0808

He was offering tolet me

just walk aroundhis store and

pick something out!

Wow.

That was a

pleasant surprise.

Who’d a thunk it?Such enthusiasm for

my crazy idea from a

perfect stranger.

I went for a visit

And after an hour so of walking

around the store together, we settled on…

This mid-century vanity!

I told Brian he was being too generous, but check

this out:

I told Brian he was being too generous, but check

this out:

He’s as excited aboutthis project as I am.

He said he was lookingfor something to

be a part of.

He wanted my first trade to be significant, to get us off to a good

start.

He wanted my first trade to be significant, to get us off to a good

start.

Well, he certainly made that happen!

And that’s what makes this whole process so cool.

And that’s what makes this whole process so cool.

It’s not merely about my getting my hands on other people’s stuff, and trading

up to an RV.

It’s about a dream.

Brian is thrilled with his R2D2.

True, it’s monetarily worth much less than the vanity,

True, it’s monetarily worth much less than the vanity,

but every time he lays eyes on it,

he’s reminded that he took part in a project to

make a

dream come true.

So I owe him my gratitude.

Thank you, Brian.

So anyway, I called my friend, Robert, because he has a minivan,

And he’s super-nice.

And he’s always there for a friend.

He gave the vanity a ride to my house.

And now it’s sitting in our living room,

waiting for a new owner to offer

something for it.

What will I trade for

next?Who knows.

The facebook posts are posting.

The email blasts

are blasting.

The blog is

blogging.

The craigslist classifieds are “classifying.”

Only time will tell what the

next adventure will be.
