A presentation I made for the following workshop day for Generator. Hopefully it makes some sense without the commentary alongside. It should be noted that themes discussed throughout are not definitive, but served the purpose to demonstrate the points addressedIn reality, these slides are probably most useful for the Key Skills and DIY Tools sectons and links from slide 11 onwards----Compact: DIY Management looks at the roles and responsibilities of a manager, the qualities required to make a good one and how artists can perform the role themselves. DIY doesn't mean do it alone, so we will look at building a team around the artist and when external help such as lawyers, booking agents and PR should be brought in.Guest speaker will be Whiskas, who alongside being a succesful artist in Forward Russia and Honour Before Glory has worked as a promoter, manager, producer and record label boss (Dance to the Radio).
