People are happier and healthier in a more beautiful environment.

There is visual beauty, but also emotional and other sensory beauty (scents, taste, etc.).

There are plenty of ways to increase the beauty in life.

Here are a few cheap ways to do it.

Embrace the negative

1. The negative helps you to see and embrace the positive in life.  It may not feel like it at the moment, but you always learn from your negative experiences

2. A great amount of beauty (art, music, books…) has been created from negative situations. Just think about ‘Yesterday’ by The Beatles.

3. Do not let the negative overwhelm you and ruin the future. Breath it, feel it, live it and then let it go. Having survived a negative experience, you can look back and see what you have survived and where you are now.

4. Understand the negativity in others: try to see what might be behind it. Is it sorrow, pain, lack of love and trust, bad experiences or simply fear? Perhaps answering back with a smile and kind words could help.

5. What if some of your so called negative features are positive? Or have you thought about how to make them positive and empower them?

Then, look at the positive to raise your vibration

Surround yourself with things that are beautiful and meaningful to you.

They can be in the house, the tea cup, or the computer desktop. They should to

evoke positive and good mood emotions.

And do not forget to visit art exhibitions.

Listen to music that makes you feel good. Create playlists for different

purposes, e.g. old movie classics, 70s rock etc.

You can also create sensory bridges with music – and other senses included.

Listen to music when you do household chores, for example cleaning the house.

There is nothing like James Brown and old R’n’B and rock when you clean the

house.

Enjoy food: its smell, preparing it and tasting, eating it. Cook with real

ingredients! It is tastier and keeps you healthier.

Do not rush and settle to ready-made food. Intention is the secret ingredient of

food. Or how about having a drop of perfume

on you when you go to bed?

Feel the touches of different materials and surfaces,

e.g. grass or rock under your feet in summer or the softness of a cardigan.

Clean your house. It does not have to be clean all the time.

Actually, neurotic cleaning the house can be negative. But organise and clean

it enough. You can feel your energy changing.

Have something at home that smells good to you; embrace

scents. This can be green apple or a cup of

coffee in the morning, or the smell of the metro in Paris. Enjoy these smells.

This is internalising beauty.

Spoil and treat yourself sometimes; make a date with yourself and

enjoy me-time.This can be spending time in the library,

watching a film in pyjamas or have a long scented bath.

It does not have to be expensive or extravagant.

Small and simple is enough.

10.

Do fun and silly things. Embrace your inner child.

You are never too old for that. The world does not end if you dare to laugh, sing, dance or just be silly.

You can also watch a comedy or a great play at the theatre.

Do small nice things for others. A simple smile or thank you,

opening the door, can do lot. They feel better – you might

actually save someone’s day, and you get the feel-good hormone, which is good for the immune

system.

Walk in nature and look around you when you do that.

The nature is full of wonders and small beautiful things.

Walk around the city, visit galleries, food markets, find interesting ‘ugly’ places, create stories in your mind…

16.

Stop chewing the cud and move on. Some people help you in this by

assisting a natural move on, but some feed it. Think again if you need this kind of

person in your life.

17.

Be happy for others! It can be your relative, friend or a total stranger; for example, someone who turns the life around towards positive,

the courage of someone on the behalf of others, etc.

18.

Spend a few minutes each day thinking about all the positive things that have

happened or you have had today. While you are brushing your teeth in the evening is good time to do this.

19.

Never stop wondering on the wonders of the nature.

You can even plan your next trip according to them: “This year we’ll visit

the jellyfish lake, next year the heart shaped island…”
