LUKE 2:1-20

1 In those days Caesar Augustusissued a decree that a censusshould be taken of the entireRoman world. 2 (This was the firstcensus that took place whileQuirinius was governor of Syria.)

3 And everyone went to their owntown to register. 4 So Joseph alsowent up from the town ofNazareth in Galilee to Judea, toBethlehem the town of David,because he belonged to thehouse and line of David.

5 He went there to register withMary, who was pledged to bemarried to him and wasexpecting a child. 6 While theywere there, the time came forthe baby to be born,

7 and she gave birth to herfirstborn, a son. She wrappedhim in cloths and placed himin a manger, because therewas no guest room availablefor them.

8 And there were shepherdsliving out in the fields nearby,keeping watch over theirflocks at night.

9 An angel of the Lordappeared to them, and theglory of the Lord shonearound them, and they wereterrified.

10 But the angel said to them,“Do not be afraid. I bring yougood news that will causegreat joy for all the people.

11 Today in the town of David aSavior has been born to you;he is the Messiah, the Lord.12 This will be a sign to you: Youwill find a baby wrapped incloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company ofthe heavenly host appeared withthe angel, praising God andsaying, 14 “Glory to God in thehighest heaven, and on earthpeace to those on whom hisfavor rests.”

15 When the angels had leftthem and gone into heaven,the shepherds said to oneanother, “Let’s go toBethlehem and see this thingthat has happened, which theLord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and foundMary and Joseph, and the baby,who was lying in the manger. 17When they had seen him, theyspread the word concerningwhat had been told them aboutthis child,

CONCLUSION

JESUS is our celebration. He is our Honored One. He is

our King. He is our Savior. This year let’s honor Him by

witnessing, wondering, waiting before Him and worshiping Him!
