DESCRIPTION
The crucifix was particularly important to St. Francis of Assisi. Jesus spoke to him from the San Damiano crucifix and told him to "rebuild my church." St. Francis wrote this beautiful prayer before a crucifix: "We adore you, Lord Jesus Christ, here and in all your churches in the whole world, and we bless you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world."
