Civic Sunday

1 Timothy 21 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.

Civic Sunday

1 Timothy 23 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Civic Sunday

1 Timothy 25 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.

Romans 131 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.

Civic Sunday

Romans 133 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval,

Civic Sunday

Romans 134 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.

Civic Sunday

Romans 135 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.

Civic Sunday

Romans 13

7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.

Prayer for EMT’s and Ambulance Squad

Dear God, It was our Lord Jesus who said to us, “Greater love has no one than this… that someone lay down his life for his friends.” We pray today for men and women who lay down their lives for us an hour at a time.

Civic Sunday

Prayer for EMT’s and Ambulance Squad

They have left family dinners and celebrations, sacrificed important holidays and allowed their sleep to be disrupted more times than can easily be counted or remembered.

Civic Sunday

Prayer for EMT’s and Ambulance Squad

We pray that you will bless them for their sacrifice and that you would graciously protect them when they place themselves at risk in order to preserve the lives of others.

Civic Sunday

Prayer for EMT’s and Ambulance Squad

We also pray concerning the memories they cannot erase. The frightened look on a teen’s face moments before death. The shattered face of a parent who has lost a child. The victims of abuse, often at the hands of their own family members.

Civic Sunday

Prayer for EMT’s and Ambulance Squad

Lord, we pray that you will give them the strength to bear and live with these images, and that they will remember the other faces, the faces of the rescued, the revived, and the restored.

Civic Sunday

Prayer for EMT’s and Ambulance Squad

We pray all these things in the name of the Great Physician, Jesus. Amen.
