The prophet had already told them the problemthe problem.

Now God is calling a leader to deliverdeliver the people:

FirstFirst from their own sinsown sins. Then from the oppressionoppression of

their enemies.

If we find ourselves under the oppression of the devil, seek God's Face.

We draw nigh unto God through repentance.

5

Then we can resistresist the devil and he willwill flee from us.

Gideon didn't feelfeel brave, although the Lord had called him bravecalled him brave.

6

He felt weakweak and alonealone and fearfulfearful. He had seen no evidenceno evidence of God's blessings, and had probably begun to think the storiesstories of the old old

folksfolks were just thatjust that -- storiesstories.

14 And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent theehave not I sent thee?

When GodGod calls us and sends us,We can gogo in confidence.

It's not about who we arewho we are, or our abilitiesour abilities.

It's all about the Onethe One Who called us.If God is for usfor us, none can stand against usagainst us.

15 And he said unto Him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.

Isaiah 6 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then said I, Here Here amam I; send me I; send me.
