The disaster at Bombi has greatly increased the volume of traffic using the Bridge of Hope which is now the only bridge across the Galana river between Bombi and Malindi, a distance of approximately 50 miles.

The bridge deck and handrails suffered damage and so 1 year after completion of the Bridge of Hope we returned to site to carry out maintenance and strengthening work to decking and handrails.

Where do we go from here at Galana?

Present & Future Projects1. Spiritual leadership and teaching in the churches at

Shackahola, Hawewanje and Bombi2. Construction of church building at Hawewanje.3. Honey production at Hawewanje and Shackahola.4. Irrigation for crops at Hawewanje and Shackahola.5. More wells providing clean drinking water in the Galana

area.6. Developing farming methods, crops and marketing. 7. Evans training in Community Development and Project

Management.8. Evans visit to Ireland – June/July 2014.
