Like any good
parent, God wants
His children to
be happy.
(Jesus said) John 15 11 These things have I spoken
unto you, that My Joy might remain in you, and
that your joy might be full.
3
Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man
that findeth Wisdom, and the
man that getteth Under-
standing. 14 For the merchan-
dise of it is better than the
merchandise of silver, and the
gain thereof than fine gold. 15 She is more precious than
rubies: and all the things thou
canst desire are not to be
compared unto her.
4
16 Length of days is in her (Wisdom and Understanding)
right hand; and in her left hand riches and honor. 17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her
paths are peace (Shalom). 18 She is a tree of life to
them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every
one that retaineth her.
Pleasantness = beauty and delight
Peace = happy, friendly, health, prosperity
God definitely wants His children to be happy.
The Good Life
5
19-20 The LORD by Wisdom hath founded the earth;
by Understanding hath He established the heavens.
By His Knowledge the depths are broken up, and
the clouds drop down the dew.
Not by evolution -- by the Wisdom of the Creator.
If there was a “big bang”, God made it bang.
Don’t be deceived by science --
falsely so called.
6
1 Timothy 6 20-21 O Timothy, keep that which is
committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain
babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so
called: which some professing have erred
concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
Just because something
is printed in a text doesn’t
make it Truth.
Not everything on the
internet is true.
7
Proverbs 30 5 Every Word of God is pure: He is a
shield unto them that put their trust in Him.
Luke 4 4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is
written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but
by every Word of God.
The Word of God gives abundant life.
If you want to live – really live – live by
EVERY Word of God.
8
21-24 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes:
keep sound Wisdom and Discretion: So shall they
be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. Then
shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall
not stumble. 24 When thou liest down, thou shalt
not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy
sleep shall be sweet.
Where do we find this precious and valuable
Wisdom and Discretion?
9
Study prayerfully and diligently, listen with full
attention to the preached and taught Word of God,
and apply every Word of God to your own life.
10
So many people think that to obey the Word of God
is just a legalistic, duty bound life.
Nothing could be farther from the Truth!
John 8 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which
believed on Him, If ye continue in My Word, then
are ye My disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know
the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.
11
So many believe that it is in busyness
that we walk closely with God.
They think that working must be
more important than worship.Singing can’t be as important to God as
building a building, putting on a roof, or
painting a room.
12
Colossians 3 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it
heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
1 Thessalonians 4:11 (NIV) Make it your ambition
to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and
to work with your hands, just as we told you,
Psalm 33 1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous:
for praise is comely for the upright. 2 Praise the
LORD with harp: sing unto Him with the psaltery
and an instrument of ten strings. 3 Sing unto Him a
new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.

The same Bible that teaches us the value of hard
work, also teaches us the value of joyful worship.
We began this lesson finding that
God wants His children to be happy.
He has given us His Word, the Bible, to teach us
how to be happy!
