Today• 1 in 9 Massachusetts

residents has visited a food pantry, soup kitchen or homeless shelter.

• Increase in need at least 11%. Some agencies are reporting 45-50% increases in need.

• Unemployment and Beacon Hill budget crunch are lagging indicators of any recovery.

• We don’t see any lessening in emergency food assistance for at least a year.
