Whoever You Are, Wherever You Are on Life’s Journey, You Are Welcome Here!

BakerWoman God

By Alla Bozarth-Campbell

Bakerwoman God,I am your living Bread.

Strong, brown, Bakerwoman God.I am your low, soft, and being-shaped loaf.

I am your rising bread,well-kneaded by some divine and knotty pair of

knuckles,by your warm earth-hands.I am bread well-kneaded.

Put me in fire, Bakerwoman God,put me in your own bright fire.

I am warm, warm as you from fire.I am white and gold, soft and hard, brown and

round.I am so warm from fire.

Break me, Bakerwoman God!I am broken under your caring Word.

Bakerwoman God,Remake me.

Gospel readingJohn 6:35,41-51

Prayers of the People

You are invited to share your prayer so we may share it

together.

Lord’s Prayer from New Zealand Prayer Book

Eternal Spirit,Earth-maker, Pain-bearer, Life-giver,Source of all that is and that shall be,Father and Mother of us all,Loving God, in whom is heaven:

The hallowing of your name echo through the universe! The way of your justice be followed by the peoples of the world!Your heavenly will be done by all created beings!Your commonwealth of peace and freedomsustain our hope and come on earth.

With the bread we need for today, feed us.In the hurts we absorb from one another, forgive us.In times of temptation and testing, strengthen us.From trials too great to endure, spare us.From the grip of all that is evil, free us.

For you reign in the glory of the power that is love, now and for ever. Amen.
