Content versioning for articles is a new feature available in Joomla 3.2

Content version options are found under the “Editing Layout” tab in the Articles component options.Remember - more versions means you require more database space.

Keeping a particular version of a Joomla article forever.

Restoring a previous version of a Joomla article.
