Communication evolved.

About Telio and this session Founded in Q3/2003, profitable since Q2/2004 Last quarter – most successful one ever Listed on Oslo stock exchange 150k customers (adjusted to market size – few

millions of customers in US …) Very strong internal R&D In this session I will primarily focus on the points that

can bring Telio money during the next 24 months …

Macro view that interests me as Service Provider

“Medici effect” – MD intersections

Once upon a time

PC – first dominant rich media comms endpoint

New rich media comms devices

In 2001 - 60 million transistors per every human on the planet, by 2010 there will be 1 billion transistors per every human…

So expect more and more rich media comms devices …

Other interesting global trend is growth of RFIDs (ca 2000 pct during the last 2 years!)

It is expected that telemetry and real time comms will intersect …

What is my goal as a Service Provider?

To have: many, happy customers that stay with us and generate good revenues

One of the simple services that proved to be “slam dunk”

in our case …

Online storage & more …

Customers that use online storage are churning in order of magnitude less numbers …

Experience with heuristics were so far very weak …No ”googling of the calls” yet, though it helped develop strong SPIT filters, which for our customers is very important …

What do we keep on mind as a Service Provider?

“Maxing” on ARPU can destroy customer’s value, it is important to provide a lots of

value in the service in order to sustain competition of the

future

Architecture of participation is one of the keys …

We see also going forward need for customer support (local language), regulatory aspects (local market), …

What else are we excited about as a Service Provider?

RSS, RFIDs, … are all intersecting with (real time) comms and open a number of possibilities for useful, simple, sticky services for customers on new generation of devices

Why video, why now?

However, we can not forget about interoperability between

operators/service providers otherwise rich comms are not

very useful

Broadband Household Appliances, Video, HD audio,

integrated telemetry, ComInfoTainement devices,….

Are f SPs and technologists dream, but they are not far

away!!!

Future
