Location, Location, Location!!!

Having your hive(s) near natural bodies of water is best!! Otherwise, keep a container of water with natural, organic materials in it such as rocks, moss, branches, etc. for the bees to land on. If they can’t get out of the water they will drown.

Swarm Cell or Supercedure Cell. This is a very good example of the beginning of a swarm cell! Notice the opening is pointing downward. Provided your queen is laying well and you know for certain she is in the hive, you will destroy any queen cells in the hive.

Notice the queen is head-down and will be born by chewing the bottom of the cell open and crawling out.

When your hive check is complete, be sure to check the top inner cover to ensure you have put it on correctly, pulling the telescoping cover forward to allow the ample space for ventilation and bee movement out the front hole.
