Coliseum

The coliseum or colosseum was built by the roman empire in 70-82AD for entertainment for his people.

The Coliseum

How the Coliseum was built .

When the romans decided to make the coliseum they had one problem there was a huge lake which is about 15 yards long. So they had to drain the lake coming out from every angle the lake water went to the main rapids 10 miles away.

After they had emptied the lake they had to build the foundations. It was not an easy task with 15yards of foundations they had to work hard. Before they could even think about putting foundations down they had to think of something that is solid enough to hold the building. So they came up with Saphe Joll which is what we call concrete. Once they put Saphe Joll down and let it dry they had to make the arches for the bottom of the construction.

The Arch.

The roman's created the arch in AD in all their megastucters such as the roman bridge the boats they made etc. The roman's made the arches at the bottom bigger so that could hold the buildings weight.

To make the arches it required 15 to 19 people to make one arch and it took at least 2 to 3 weeks to make one. By the time the bottom arches were made it was 73AD and they still had to make the middle part of the construction and the top with an entrance. Once they put up the first arch in the middle it fell off so instead of putting Saphe Joll down they put the red brick or as they called it Borck which sounds like brick. Soon after they had done balancing the first arch for the middle they were soon on there way. After they had done the middle had to build an entrance that would bring his people to amazement. First he had to have vote for his people if they wanted a fantastic grand entrance or just a step entrance surprisingly the

People choose a step entrance so they built the step entrance and the top of the construction. Once they had finished the coliseum they started having entertainment. His worst guards and best were put at risk like on Tuesday guards would fight against lions Wednesdays the gladiators would fight.
