• Gala 2014 – Schedule of the Evening • 4:00 –Anyone who needs to set up materials can arrive at this time (Mike, Kristen, Keltie,

Julie, Jonathan, others?) • 6:30 – Mingle time: tables set up with info on literacy, sports, legal, housing

o Hadia will be playing the violin • 6:50 – Jonathan or Keltie will announce for everyone to take their seats • 6:55 – Welcome and Prayer: Leon Stevenson • 7:00 – Dinner (Buffet style) – Kristen will dismiss tables by calling the street name on their

tables o Background music (45 min) - Julie

• 7:30 – Start clearing dinner; offer tea and coffee after clearing dinner plates (Keltie give 15 min warning)

• 7:45 – Introduction to MACC & MACC Development – Eric Russ & Jonathan • 8:05 – Serve Dessert and allow for bathroom break/mingle time/info tables (play background

music) • 8:25 – Kristen will call everyone back to their seats for MACC Lit presentation (15 mins)

o MACC Sports presentation will follow (15 mins) • 8:55 – Small Business presentation – Matthew Rojek (10 mins) • Wrap-up & Show MACC Development video – Jonathan (5 mins) • Final ask – Jonathan (approx. 5 mins) • 9:15 – Closing prayer: Eric Russ • 9:30 – Exit music – (restart dinner music)

How did we get here?

Why Literacy Intervention?

50% of adults in our city are considered “Level 1” readers. Level 1 readers usually:

Have we been successful? • 90 students and 50 families have been

served by MACC Lit

• On average, students have grown 2.4 grade levels in reading over one school year.

• MACC Lit has hosted 20 Family Nights and a dozen BBQs and outreaches for our families
