What is a mausoleum?-Is a monument funerary and is one tomb.-It was one of the seven wonders of the old world.

When it was created and destroyed?

-It was created in 353 BC.-An earthquake in 1404, almost completely destroyed the monument -Sixteen years later, Alejandro Magno destroyed the city and the monument.

Who created it?

-It created Mausolo the son of Hecatomno. He was the strap of the Persa Empire.

-The construction consists of a rectangular base of 30 x 40 m, on which is placed a total of 117 columns.

-The Mausoleum reached about 50 m high.

-On the ceiling placed a statue of a chariot with the efigies of the king and queen.

-At the top was a step pyramid of 24 steps.

-They did the mausoleum with white marble.

What it was created for?

- Is created because Mausolo had died and Artemisa want to make a tomb so espectacular to expresse his power.

Why is it considered one of the seven wonders of the world and why was it

important?

-The helens consider that the mausoleum of halicarnassus was a very important and beautifull monument, so they thing that the people have to look it.

-It was important because it was the tomb of Mausolo and his wife did it to remember him.

-Destruccted between the century XIII and XIV Because ------------> tremblement

-In 1404 only can saw ------------> the lower block

-In 1494 the kinghts of the order of Malta ------------> one castle

Is there anything left or preserved?

-The mausoleum support invasions and the destruction of the city by Alejandro Magno, the barbarians and the arabians; but, finally it was destructed because of one earthquake in 1404.
