SYSTEM SYSTEM DEVELOPMENTDEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLELIFE CYCLE
SDLCSDLC – is a technique for structured analysis use to plan and manage the development process.
-describes activities and functions that system developers typically perform regardless of how those activities and function fits into particular methodology.

SYSTEM SYSTEM PLANNINGPLANNING
PhasPhase 1e 1
System Planning – usually begins with a formal request to the IT department, called a System Request that describes problems or desired changes in an Information System or Business Process.
The purpose of the planning phasepurpose of the planning phase is to identify clearly the nature and scope of the business opportunity or problem by performing a Preliminary InvestigationPreliminary Investigation often called

The purpose of the system analysis is to understand business requirements and build a LOGICAL MODELLOGICAL MODEL of the new system.
The first steps is Requirement ModelingRequirement Modeling, where you define and describe business processes. Requirement ModelingRequirement Modeling continues the investigation that begun during system planning and involves Fact-finding techniquesFact-finding techniques such as interviews, surveys, observation and sampling.
The end product for the system analysis phase is the ---
SYSTEM REQUIRMENTS DOCUMENT.
The system requirements document describes management and user requirements, alternative plans and costs, and your recommendation.

PhasPhase 3e 3
The purpose of System DesignSystem Design is to create a blueprint for the new system that will satisfy all document requirements, whether the systems is being developed in-house or purchased as a package.
During System Design, you identify all necessary outputs, inputs, interfaces, and processes. In addition, you design internal and external controls, including computer-based and manual features to guarantee that the system will be reliable, accurate, maintainable and secure.
The design is documented in the Systems Designs Specification and presented to management and users for their review and approval.

SYSTEM SYSTEM ImplementationImplementation
PhasPhase 4e 4
The objective of the Implementation Phase is to deliver a completely functioning and documented information system.
At the conclusion of this phase, the system is ready for use. Final preparation include converting data to the new system’s files, training users, and performing the actual transition to the new system.
The System Implementation phase also includes an assessment, called a
SYSTEMS EVALUATION, to determine whether the system operates properly and if costs and benefits are within expectations.

SYSTEM SYSTEM Operation andOperation andSupportSupport
PhasPhase 5e 5
Systems Operation and support is the last phase in the system development life cycle.
The systems operation and support phase begins after the systems becomes operational and continues throughout the useful life of the system. In addition to user support, this phase includes system maintenance, improvement, and performance measurement.
During the performing maintenance, system analyst is like an internal consultant who provides guidance, support, and training.
Successful, robust system often need the most support because users want to learn the features, try all the capabilities and discover how the system can help them perform theirbusiness functions.
