How to share an internet connection through WiFi

Once you know the internet is working, it is time to setup sharing. Go to System Preferences and click on the Sharing tab/folder. If the Sharing folder does not show up, simply search for "sharing" in the Finder's search box.

The Internet Sharing checkbox is where we want to go. Click here and it will give you more options on the right.

Choose the connection you wish to share. This can be an ethernet connection, or as in this case, a cellular wireless connection. Notice the Internet Sharing box on the left is still unchecked. Donʼt touch it just yet.

Select the method for sharing your connection. In this case, letʼs share it with the AirPort.

Now press AirPort Options...

Enter a name for your new Network or “wifi hotspot” and click OK.

Now that all the settings are done. Go ahead and click on the Internet Sharing checkbox again.

A popup window will allow you to Start your new shared network.

Troubleshooting: If your new network fails to function, you may need to also turn on Web Sharing. To this, simple check Web Sharing.
