SketchUp Tutorial 1 - Drawing a simple 3D object and familiarising with the SketchUp tools. Introduction Load your google SketchUp program. Click the "Choose Template" button. Refer to Fig.1 below. S Select the "Simple Template" in "Feet" or "Meters".

The SketchUp window will load with a work space ready to start drawing. Refer to Fig.2 above.

The Google SketchUp 8 (free version) includes the above basic tools. These tools in Fig.3 are adequate enough to draw 3D objects. Draw a simple 3D object Click the "Rectangle" tool. The cursor will change to a pencil.

Create a square by clicking anyway near the green line then drag the "Pencil" towards the person in the working space. Refer to Fig.5

Select the "Push/Pull" tool. Refer to Fig.6 below.

Move the "Push/Pull" tool to the square. The square surface will be selected. Now click your left button mouse and drag it upwards.

By dragging the tool upwards the square becomes a 3D cube. Refer to Fig.8 below.

Please use the four viewing tools to experience different 3D perspective of the cube. Refer to Fig.9 below.
