Facebook began in 2004, only available for college

In 2007, Microsoft purchased a share of Facebook, which allowed for rights to put international ads on Facebook.

Fan pages and groups on Facebook allow for users to be constantly updated on the goings on of their favorite singer, actress, athlete, politician, etc.

Facebook has become the third-largest US Web Company, after Google and Amazon.

Along with the success of Facebook, much turmoil and backlash from the public also exists.

Many believe that the “cyber-bullying” that is being done through Facebook has led to the teen depression and suicide seen in recent news.

Rutgers freshman Tyler Clementi was a victim of bullying through Facebook, which many believe led to his suicide.

New Jersey Pastor Cedric Miller banned Facebook for the people of his parish in 2010.

Whether it is receiving positive or negative attention, there is no doubt that Facebook has become a large aspect of our generation and generations to come.
