Other Facts about VW Plant• Chattanooga VW plant is the “world’s greenest auto plant” and is

the first automotive manufacturing facility to receive LEED Platinum certification.

• Facility is also certified under ISO 14001 for its environmental management system and ISO 50001 for its energy management system.

• These features earned these certifications:– Ultra-clean paint shop that saves 50 million gallons annually– Insulation resulting in an annual savings of 720,000 per year– Exterior LED lighting that uses 68% less energy– Collection of rainwater and recycling of waste water – Reflective white roof membrane that minimizes heat island effect by up to 50 degrees
