4 main dialect groups:

Nordnorsk (northern)

Trøndersk (Trøndelag region)

Vestlandsk (western)

Østlandsk (eastern)

Words end differently Consonants and vowels are pronounced

differently ex. p = b; k = g, t = d ex. r = skarre r or rulle r (either rolled/vibrated in the back or rolled in the front)

Different intonation: sóla or solá Completely different versions of the word for «I»
