THREE COMMON MISTAKES VISITORS TO

ITALY MAKE

And how to avoid them!

Mistake #1: Buying

museum and attraction

tickets at the door.

Bad idea.

Queues could get very long and it may take you one to two hours to even get

to the head of the line!

Yum!

That’s a couple of hours you could be relaxing with a limoncello!

•Buy your tickets ahead of time

INSTEAD:

•Buy tickets online

Like this!

Don’t be afraid to ask your

tour organizer, guide, host, or travel agent!

In case you can’t:

Mistake #2: Relying on

credit cards and checks to

make purchases.

Again, NOPE.

Remember that Italy, unlike the US, is still mostly a cash-based economy.

Have cash ready for:

Trattorias

Small Stores

Artisan shops

Coffee bars

Don’t miss out on Italian street food just because

you didn’t have a few euros in cash in your

pocket! (Mmm… porchetta…)

Especially for street food!

Mistake #3: Asking for a “latte” at an Italian coffee

bar.

FORGET WHAT YOU LEARNED

FROM STARBUCKS

A “latte” in Italy will only get you a glass of milk!

(and weird looks.)

Caffè macchiato Latte macchiato

Learn the proper terms for types of coffee

(more coffee than milk) (more milk than coffee)

And instead, ask the waiter for a cup of

“Caffè latte”(equal parts milk and coffee)
