When in Britain do as the British do!!

Ράπτη Χαρίκλεια

DOs

1. DO STAND IN LINE

British people like forming queues and waiting patiently for their turn. “Line jumping” isn’t a good habit.

2. DO SAY “EXCUSE ME, PLEASE,THANK YOU”

3. DO SAY “I’M SORRY”

• British people really appreciate good manners. Saying “I’m sorry, thank you, excuse me” shows that you’re a polite person.

4. COVER YOUR MOUTH

When coughing or yawning always cover your mouth with your hand.

5. SHAKE HANDS

• When you are first introduced with someone, shake their right hand with your own right hand.

6. SMILE

• A smiling face is a welcoming face.

7. OPEN DOORS FOR OTHER PEOPLE

• Men and women both hold open doors for each other. The first who goes through the door holds the door open for the other person.

8. ALWAYS USE A KNIFE AND A FORK WHEN YOU EAT.

• Good table manners are highly respected in the United Kingdom. Even young children are taught to use a knife and a fork from an early age.

DON’Ts

1. Don’t talk loudly in public. In Great Britain people can get really annoyed

2. DON’T STARE AT PEOPLE

4. DON’T GREET PEOPLE WITH A KISS.

Don’t kiss other people when you meet them, especially in workplace.

We only kiss people who are relatives or close friends.

5. DON’T TALK WITH YOUR MOUTH FULL.

• It’s both impolite and disgusting.

6. DON’T THROW ANY LITTER IN THE STREET.

Whatever the dos and don’ts are, you are going to

enjoy your stay in U.K.!!!
