*SUMMARY OF QUESTIONAIRRE

From conducting my questionnaire I have discovered what my target audience would like to find when looking at a digipack and poster. The majority of feedback that I recieved claimed that an image of the artist on the front cover would be the most appropriate when creating a digipack or poster as it advertises the artist to the audience creating more a connection between the artist and their music that is produced on the CD, while also enabling the audience to recognise the new album as they will be familiar with the appearance of the artist. However although most of my target audience suggested that an image of the artist would be the most appropriate for my digipak, it is clear to see that this subverts the typical conventions of the indie/rock genre regarding the front cover of the digipack. As most indie/rock bands front covers present an abstract image or symbol, that represents them in some way. I will be analysing key questions that will help me in the production of creating my digi pack, enabling me to have a greater understand of what it is my target audience will like to see on the digipack.

*What do you think makes an album artwork

interesting and successful?

Common answers The majority of my focus group suggested that by including an image of the artist on the front cover of the album cover enables people to recognise the new album more conveniently. They suggested that by including an image of the artist on the front cover this presents the style of music that will be included on the record.

Some members of my focus group claimed that when they are in the process of purchasing an album they take no notice of the digi pack, it is in fact the music that they are most interested in and they commonly dismiss the art work.

A fair amount of my target audience suggested that the digi pack would be a success if the cover presented an image that was different, new, interesting and unexpected. The majority of the people who stated this also suggested that a digi pack does not have to include that image of the artist for a cover to be successful.

Do you think the album should be named after the main single ‘People Are Strange’, or a name that describes the content of the album?Common answers to this question suggested that the album should present a name that describes the content of the album. After thinking about this particular question and aspect of my digi pack, I have decided to take this comment into consideration and brain storm names that are the most appropriate to describe both the content of the record and the star image of my artist.

I asked my target audience exactly how many tracks they would like to see on the digi pack. The feedback that I received from this question sowed similar answers.
