Cartier Bresson was a French photographer. He helped develop street photography/ life reportage style, he inspired generations of photographers with this technique.

Bresson travelled around the world with his camera, becoming totally immersed in his current environment.

He had his first exhibition at the Julien Levy Gallery in New York (1933) – he started to become known for his scenic images.

Cartier Bresson used a 35mm film camera to take his famous black and white images. I used a digital camera and photo shop to manipulate my images into the style of Cartier Bresson.

• These images are all edited into Black and White and have leading lines, rules of thirds as well as the golden ratio.

• Image 5 : I used the power of thirds, this was made clear because I used the metal fence to break up the image into 3. This is one of my best images because of the detail and power of 3rds.

• Image 2 : This image uses the Golden Ratio and enhances black and white making it a very strong and sharp image.
