Introduction

A cofounder of the League of Extraordinary Gamers, Fabian Samuel also serves as the chief operating officer of Indfrag Limited, a manufacturer and exporter of dietary ingredients. In his spare time, Bangalore, India, resident Fabian Samuel enjoys reading nonfiction novels and visiting museums.

Located on Kasturba Gandhi Road, the Government Museum of Bangalore stands as one of the oldest museums in India. Built in 1876, the structure remained closed to the public until 1886.

Today, it fills two floors with historical exhibitions, art galleries, and ancient coin collections. In addition, artifacts from Vijayanagar and other parts of the Indus Valley Civilization are showcased throughout the venue.

Among the exhibits is the Venkatappa Art Gallery. Named after the renowned painter Venkatappa, the gallery contains an estimated 600 works from eminent artists, like Vasudev and Rekha Rao. For visitors looking specifically for Venkatappa’s paintings, they may head to the ground floor, where his works span the walls. The Sunrise in Ooty and Nilgiri Moutain are some of his featured works.
